 ‘Between The Worlds’ is the second album from Russian epic pagan metal band ALKONOST. Formed in 1995 and somewhere comparable to countrymen ARKONA. However, ALKONOST is far more epic and melancholic. Typical pagan metal elements are the intense screams by bass player Aleksey. The melodic lead guitars do remind of early Paradise Lost and the beautiful female vocals show astonishing epic metal influences. All in all, an original mixture of refined metal styles.
