Progressive metal outfit
Another Life is
the brainchild of Paganizer and Ribspreader guitar
player Andreas ‘Dea’ Karlsson.
During 2003 and 2004, Dea recorded the demos
‘Another Life’ and ‘Melancholia’. The debut demo ‘Another Life’
(2003), was recorded by Andreas (guitar, bass and vocals) and Dan
Swanö (drums, keyboards and production / Edge of Sanity, Odyssey,
Nightingale).
The second demo ‘Melancholia’ (2004) was recorded
in Dea’s home studio. All songs had only vocals and acoustic
guitars.
Early 2005
Another Life, signed to Vic
Records and started to record their debut album ‘Memories for
Nothing’. Around the end of 2005 Karlsson collected high quality
session-members for the recordings of the Another Life debut
album.
This studio job was done by: Andreas Karlsson,
all vocals, rhythm, acoustic and bass guitars, Peter Damin drums,
Pär Fransson lead guitars (Soulbreach), Fredrik Pettersson
guitar harmonies, Joakim Diener (ex Paganizer) additional bass
guitar and Dan Swanö keyboards. Production, mixing and mastering of
course by Dan Swanö.
The endeavour expended to a full band as Karlsson
and Swanö introduced lead guitarist Fredrik Petterson of Hybrid
Freak Division, and the Skies Bring Tears musicians,
second guitar player Christian Ahlsen, bass player Andreas Ottosson,
keyboard player Niklas Ottosson and August Lengquist on drums. Another Life signed a two-record deal with Vic Records. Cover
art of the debut album is done by Ivan S. Bragin (Paganizer,
Serpent, Forest Steam).
