During the cold and boring Hungarian winter of
2002 Sinox and Corun founded a black-death-metal band which they
later named DSD (Damned Spirits’ Dance). Vyrn and
Sacrun quickly joined the group and the four of them became the main
song writers of DSD.
Reaction followed action and two years
later they produced the first DSD demo called ‘Hide from
Daylight’, of which only 100 copies were printed.
Meanwhile the music changed and got more
professional and finally at the end of the summer 2006, DSD
entered the studio again, this time with Hungarian leading metal
producer Viktor ‘Max’ Scheer (Sear Bliss, Forest Silence).
The outcome of the recording sessions with
Viktor Scheer is the beautiful ‘The Growing Spirit’ mini-CD. It is
an unique blender of experimental black metal, progressive rock and
several other music directions, never boring and always metal.
The cover art and booklet are done by outstanding
Hungarian painter Péter Sallai (Bloodgut, Bornholm. Memory Garden).
The year 2007 started successful for this
promising Hungarian band, DSD signed to Vic Records in the
beginning of 2007 and added Samy on drums and Abyss on bass (ex-Sin
of Kain) to the DSD line-up.
Vic Records will release the ‘The Growing
Spirit’ mini-cd during April/May of 2007. DSD prepare themselves for
the recording sessions of their debut full-length album which will
be recorded in August 2007 with Viktor Max Scheer again as producer.
It will be more into experimental-avant-garde genre than ‘The
Growing Spirit’ mini-CD was.
DSD’s theory is to
play colourful, exciting music with a humorous, but quality attitude
– which considers the lyrics as well – and to give lively, vivid
shows backed up with well-thought design and ideas... Be there as it
grows and invigorates the spirit!
