With
only but half a month until the
release of the brand new masterpiece
“The Lustrate Process” (street date
July 6th, 2009 on thru Vic Records)
we have decided to give you Haters a
full song to enjoy. The tune is the
second one on the album and it’s
entitled “You come to me through
hell” and is available on YouTube at
this
location.
Included
in this song are backing vocalists
LG Petrov of the legendary Entombed,
Christian Älvestam (ex-Scar
Symmetry) and super hero Martin van
Drunen of Hail Of Bullets and Asphyx
(also responsible for the vocals and
bass on one of death metal’s
absolute classics “Consuming
impulse” by Pestilence). 3 people we
admire and respect - we can’t thank
them enough for their contributions.
Also, as in all the other tunes on
the album there’s a fantastic guitar
solo by Mike Wead (King Diamond,
Mercyful Fate and so forth).
Promos of “The Lustrate Process” are
about to be sent out any given day
now, so we wanted to make sure you
get to hear a complete symphony
directly from us before the shit is
leaked. We sincerely wish that you
buy this album when it’s out, so you
get the complete concept with the
booklet and everything coz it’s so
much more to this piece than just
music. As we have mentioned before
you will be able to purchase the
disc directly from us, and as soon
as we have got them in stock you
will be given all the ordering
information you need.
More promo videos will be up as we
go along. At least that’s the plan.
We have covered some of the vocal
sessions and a bit of drums… Guess
we have to do something about the
guitars and bass at some point, huh?
Videos are lying around, it’s just a
matter of having time to work with
the material. Just keep on checking
in here, when you least expect it
there might be something new for
you, you know…
Feel might free to voice your
opinions about what you just heard
here at our forums. We appreciate
the eventual feedback.
Last off, here’s a few words (a
few?!) from Lord K. Philipson about
the album since pretty much everyone
else included on it have had their
saying during the process of the
video updates and so forth.
“It feels so good to finally have
the result of all this insane work
that led to the completion of “The
Lustrate Process”. I have never been
so confident about any material that
I have been involved with. I
consider this my life’s work, on all
accounts. Just the fact to have been
able to gather some of my personal
heroes musicianwise is a dream come
true. First, fucken Martin van
Drunen… A guy I have been holding as
one of the best death metal
vocalists of all time. I met him
back in the early 90’s when I ran my
fanzine at the time. Being a kid
interviewing one of my heroes was
huge for me and now this fucken guy
sings on my album? If someone at the
time would have told me this would
be the case some 15-20 years into
the future… well… I guess it’s safe
to say I wouldn’t have believed it.
Thank you Martin, you salty old
bastard.
LG Petrov… The fabulous Entombed
vocalist… A legend in his own rights
and one of the coolest fuckers I
know. How he ended up on the album
is a story in itself. It involves a
ferry, a mobile phone and lots of
booze. LG actually did some vocals
on the first and only demo that we
did back in 1999 and now he’s with
us again for this one. Absolutely
fantastic. Thank you, LG.
Amon Amarth’s Johan Hegg. The guy
with the half-beard and the
fantastic growl. I have known him
for years and he’s always been a
tremendous fucken guy. I didn’t even
know he was a TPH fan so that was
even cooler when I got him to join
in on this recording. Amon Amarth
were recording their latest album at
the time and me and a friend visited
them in the studio (and got
shit-drunk in the process) in my
hometown. Somehow we came to the
conclusion that since Johan was
recording Amon’s vocals he might as
well do some lines for the TPH album
- everything was rigged for him in
the studio already anyways. Thanx
fucken loads, Johan.
Christian Älvestam. Fantastic
vocalist with as great a growl as
clean vocals. We don’t use clean
male vocals too often but it’s
obvious that Chrille really added
what I wanted to this masterpiece.
If he got to choose I think he would
have sung on the whole fucken album
together with Jörgen. The guy
wouldn’t stay calm about wanting to
sing on this piece and I’m fucken
happy about his devotion to it. It
really added some excellent shit to
our stuff. Thanx a ton, Christian.
Now all you need to do is change yer
name coz it kinda bugs me to have
some Christian on this satanic hymn.
Har, har.
Robban Eriksson. The guy that Jo’s
been recording her vocals with for
the last few albums… Wonderful guy
in all areas and one extremely
awesome dude to work with. I cant
thank you enough, man.
And the guitarists… Muthafucken Mike
Wead is obviously a TPH fan as well,
something I had no idea of. He sent
a friend request over at MySpace
some time ago and immediately when I
saw that I had to have him on board
for some solos. I have loved this
guy’s work for fucken years and
consider him on par with Malmsteen
and the likes. I intentionally just
thought we’d have one or 2 solos
from him, but when he sent over the
first sketch of the first solo I
fucken went out and burned churches
in joy over it. This guy is so
talented it’s not even funny and he
creates solos exactly the way I wish
I could play them. But I don’t deal
in solos so if Mike’s up for it - be
fucken sure we will utilize his
services for as long as we can. I
can never thank you enough, Mike.
Pär
Fransson and Henry Pyykkö aren’t
exactly the most famous of the bunch
but they still needed to be on this
piece. Both fantastic guitarists and
their efforts are ace. You know that
if they are on a TPH album - their
standards are high as fuck… Thanks,
guys.
Dan Swanö… I can’t say enough great
things about this guy. I have known
him for so long it’s insane. I have
worked with him for just as long as
well and we know each other real
well when it comes to what I have in
mind and whatnot for TPH. The
productions he’s given us on “TLP”
is out of this world and has quickly
turned out to be one of my fave
productions ever,. That fucken bass
sound (well, I did have to bitch to
him for a few days until he got it
right, but when he got it right -
FUCK ME IS THAT A KILLER SOUND!).
Dan’s got a unique approach to
dealing with stuff he enjoys when it
comes to music. He surprises me all
the time when he hands over
something for me to approve. I love
you Dan and I can never thank you
enough for all the insane support I
get from you with my equipment and
whatnot. Thanx. So fucken much.
The
guys in the band… And
brother/webmaster/designer Marko
Saarelainen… You already know my
feelings about your efforts. You
truly are the finest people around.
Thanx for being a part of this and
for making “The Lustrate Process”
everything I ever dreamed of
creating. This is the epitome of
Domination and without you it
wouldn’t be half of what it is. I
take a bow to you all.
Now we’ll just wait for the release
and after that we’ll start writing
for the next album that will (again)
top everything we have done in the
past, haha…
Last
off: Thanx so much to all the Haters
and the guys at our forums for being
fantastic and supportive with buying
merch and whatnot. This one is for
you.”

quality version of the song:

‘Single Ticket to Paradise’ is
HEARSE’s
brand new fifth full length album.
Formed in 2001 shortly after Johan Liiva
left
ARCH ENEMY
and joined forced again with his
long-time buddy Max Thornell. The two
used to be in the legendary act FURBOWL
in the early 90’s. HEARSE are definitely
one of the highlights of the death ‘n
roll metal sub genre. Johan’s
charismatic vocals, the never ending and
ultra melodic leads by guitar player
Matthias Ljung and the pounding and
effective drums by Max, makes
HEARSE
an unique band within the wide metal
borders. The album is produced by Dan
Swanö (Opeth, Katatonia, Dissection).
The album has a bonus DVD 'Live In
Holland' containing 5 live tracks,
filmed and edited by Maurice Swinkels
(Legion of the Damned), a massive
picture chapter and the video for the
track 'Sundown', edited by Owe Lingvall
(Nocturnal Rites, Wolf, Stratovarius).

HEARSE
New Album To Include Bonus DVD
HEARSE, the Swedish "death 'n' roll" band featuring former ARCH ENEMY
singer Johan Liiva and ex-FURBOWL drummer Max Thornell,
will release its fifth album, "Single Ticket To
Paradise", on June 15 via Vic
Records. Thornell says, "it'll be, as I see it, a
good value for the money release with a bonus live DVD
filmed in Holland back in 2004. Am quite eager myself to
see it actually! Haven't seen a second of it yet. Just
remember a review from that gig saying that we sucked 'cos
I wore a SPICE GIRLS t-shirt and that is unacceptable 'cos
it's so not serious bla bla bla...! Quite funny, as I
said before the gig that I just gotta wear it 'cos it'll
always annoy someone, he he! The show was filmed by
Maurice (from the great band LEGION OF THE DAMNED) and
his crew, by the way."
HEARSE filmed a video for the new song "Sundown" (audio stream) on
February 7 in Stockholm with Owe Lingvall and Oscar from
Village Road Film. The group previously said, "[Owe and
Oscar were] very nice dudes indeed and great to work
with. [We] also really like the stuff they have done
before (THE RASMUS, CARNAL FORGE etc.), so [we are]
pretty sure we will end up with a nice HEARSE video
too!"

TORCHBEARER
Vic Records signed the
mighty TORCHBEARER from Sweden!!!
Vic proudly presents
TORCHBEARER! Christian got the scoop, here it is:
Hi all!
We have now got the "go ahead" to announce that we've
inked a new deal with the Dutch label
Vic Records. We are all
very excited and really looking forward to start
cooperating, to say the least.
At the moment we are in the midst of pre-producing
"Dying Codex", our 3rd album-to-be, and we will then
spend June, July and August recording the album for
real, on various occasions and locations. When
everything is recorded and done, it will be mixed and
mastered by Tomas "Plec" Johansson, who is now also a
member of Torchbearer, at his Panic-Room studios, for a
possible late November release through
Vic Records.
As for the current line-up, we have gone through some
changes since last time round, with the addition of two
new live wires to the TB-family. We'd like to welcome
Rolf Pilve on drums and Tomas "Plec" Johansson on bass,
now completing the line-up as follows:
Pär Johansson - lead vocals
Christian Älvestam - rhythm guitar and backing vocals
Patrik Gardberg - lead guitar
Tomas "Plec" Johansson - bass
Rolf Pilve - drums
More news as it happens!

TORTURE
DIVISION
Who fucken releases an LP in these days
of 1’s and 0’s?
Vic Fucken Records,
that’s who. We are extremely happy to
announce that our friends at Vic Records
begged and begged and begged us to have
the honour to release “With endless
wrath we bring upon thee our infernal
torture” on a good ol’ LP. We can’t say
no to that. It’ll be a limited edition,
that’s for sure. So, this means we’ll
get our three first demos (and the 2008
x-mass single) out on both LP and CD (Abyss
Records
will release that one, as mentioned
before). So, have we abandoned our
agenda of giving out the world’s best
death metal for free? Fuck no, we’d
never do that. We just told Vic Records
that they can have exclusive rights to
release the material on the LP format
(and throw some dough our way to finance
a small portion of the next trilogy of
demos) since that’s what they wanted,
besides that - everything is as it
always was. No one owns our music but
us. That’s the beauty of it all.
Releasedate is April 6th. Get in touch
with Vic Records if you wanna obtain a
copy of this beautiful death metal
masterpiece.

MEMORY GARDEN
MEMORY GARDEN
— the Sweden-based band featuring former
ABSKTRAKT ALGEBRA

Simon Johansson
— has issued the following update:
"We are very happy to announce that our first
full-length album,
'Tides'
[originall released in 1996 through
Heathendoom Music],
will finally be available again. We have received
tons of e-mails, letters and questions about why
this album isn't released again and until now we
have never had any good answer to that question. But
now we have... On February 2,
Vic Records
will release a reissue of this since-long-sold-out
masterpiece. The album will contain the entire
'Tides'
album, remastered by
Mike Wead
[KING
DIAMOND,
MERCYFUL FATE,
MEMENTO MORI,
FIREGOD,
ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA,
CANDLEMASS],
three cool bonus tracks, liner notes from the band
telling some anecdotes from the recording and brand
new artwork by
Peter Sallai,
everything inspired by the old artwork… just a
little facelift for the re-issue. We do hope you all
will love this one…. It's time for some real doom
again, folks!!!"

last year parted ways with guitarist
Anders Looström
and replaced him with
