Paganizer is an old school death metal from Sweden. Formed in Gamleby by
Dead Sun vocalist Rogga Johansson and Terminal Grip
guitarist Dea (aka Andreas Karlsson, Another Life) together
with Blizzard drummer Jocke and bassist Diener. The band, now with
new bass player Oskar Nilsson debuted with the legendary album ‘Deadbanger’.
One of the many side
projects of Rogga was black metal band Blodsrit, where he
joined on drums. When Jocke quite Paganizer in 2000, he was
replaced by Matte Fiebig from Portal, Dark Rites and
Blodsrit. The band signed to the American Forever Underground
label and released ‘Promoting Total Death’ in June 2001.
In 2002 Paganizer entered
the famous Sunlight Studios in Stockholm to record their
third album ‘Dead Unburied’, mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö.
Jörgen Sandström of (ex) Grave and Entombed did some guest vocals.
Paganizer
made a return in action with their brand new 4th album
called ‘Murder Death Kill’, produced by Mieszko Talarzcyk. The album
was released on Spanish Xtreem Music.
Meanwhile guitarist Andreas
‘Dea’ Karlsson formed his progressive rock/ metal band Another
Life. At the same time Rogga and Dea formed Ribspreader
together with Dan Swanö.
In 2004 Paganizer
entered the studios again to record their 5th album with
Mieszko Talarzcyk. The band also recorded a cover version of
‘Nausea’ for the relatively unknown At the Gates tribute
album ‘Slaughtherous Souls, released fall 2004.
By the end of 2006
Paganizer toured Spain and Portugal with Machetazo and
finished recordings for their 6th album ’Carnage Junkie’, to
be released on Vic Records. Cover art by Ivan S. Bragin
(Serpent, Another Life, Forest Stream) and produced by Dan Swanö.
The album will feature the old school
videoclip of the track ‘Gasmask Obsession’
on the album’s multi media section.
Johansson formed Demiurg
during 2006 and released the Demiurg debut early 2007 on
Holland’s Mascot Records which got extremely positive critics and
was very well received.
The notorious 'Dead
Unburied' album will have its first European release through Vic
Records. Paganizer are currently recording 3 bonus tracks
which will be added to the extremely brutal old school death metal
monster ‘Dead Unburied’.
