Inde$troy is a recording by Saw Throat, the industrial and experimental side project of members of Sore Throat. While retaining the band's confrontational attitude, Saw Throat moved away from grindcore and hardcore punk, embracing a darker sound built around heavy industrial rhythms, distorted electronics, samples, noise and doom metal. The project explored themes of social decay, consumerism, war, and political corruption, creating an oppressive and uncompromising atmosphere. Inde$troy stands as a notable example of the crossover between extreme underground punk and industrial metal music in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The cover and booklet artwork for Inde$troy was created by Steve Hutton. Its stark, apocalyptic imagery complements the album's bleak industrial-crust sound and themes of environmental destruction, war, and the collapse of modern society. The artwork has become one of the album's most recognizable features and is widely regarded as an integral part of its atmosphere.
