PESTILENCE - Live at Eibergen, July 1988
One month after the recordings of ‘Mallevs Maleficarvm’ and 2 months before the actual release date, Pestilence played at one of the biggest metal festivals in The Netherlands: Metal Attack Festival. This is a particularly valuable document of Pestilence during the transition from their early thrash-influenced death metal sound towards the style heard on Malleus Maleficarum, released later in 1988. It also captures an important moment in the Dutch underground metal scene. Pestilence performed a cover of Infernal Majesty's Night of the Living Dead. Infernal Majesty had been scheduled to play but unfortunately could not attend. The other bands that played that day were: Kreator, Death Angel, Holy Moses, Disabuse, Thanatos and Mandator. Featuring the classic line up of: Patrick Mameli (vocals/guitar), Randy Meinhard (guitar), Martin van Drunen (bass/ vocals) and Marco Foddis (drums). Carefully restored and remastered from the original VHS files by Achilleas Kalantzis at Suncord Audiolab, Greece (Vio Lence, Varathron, Possessed). Liner notes by Patrick Mameli. Cover and booklet design by RaDesign (Possessed, Brutality, Defiance).
